Scope of the Program
Learning Sciences PhD program takes learning and its surrounding settings as a scientific domain, and studies their theories as well as application methods. Contents of courses in the program reflect interdisciplinary nature of the learning sciences, and involve variety of research topics. The program is not limited to scope of a particular field. Possible research topics in the program demonstrate scientific and technological objectivity.
Learning Sciences PhD program contains components of learning environments for both formal and informal education as well as skill development. Studies in the program may involve designing components of learning environments and their interaction.
The program closely works with the following fields; learning and teaching in K-12, higher education, learning psychology, developmental psychology, educational psychology, cognitive science, communication, informatics, ergonomics, neuroscience, educational technology, psychology, linguistics, and adult education.
